Hello there! Thank you for visiting, reading, and being a part of this community. My name is Melissa and this is where I write about spirituality, love, sex, and share my attempts at fiction with you. Through all of my writing I explore love, sex, and spirituality for I believe that if we have these three elements balanced in our lives, we will find fulfillment, happiness, and even enlightenment. It is not easy and I do not claim to have achieved any glory or higher wisdom. No, this here is a perpetual exploration of the world of Spirit.

I am a native, proud, and jaded New Yorker. Sometimes I begrudgingly take the subway or bus, but 98% of the time, I’m on my motorcycle; battling it out with belligerent drivers. I worked as a special education teacher for over 3 years. I am still in special education, but as a founder of a special education tutoring company. Aside from that, I have a full-time job, go to school full-time, yet I am prioritizing my writing career. I spend most of my time working towards a dual M.S.W/M.Ed degree in human sexuality; sex therapy and sex education from Widener University. I am constantly working to expand and develop my spiritual knowledge and awareness, as well as my “technical” knowledge via formal education. Whatever I gain from my academic and spiritual endeavors, I’ll share here. I also find that you, the reader and wonderful person leaving comments, are a teacher to me.

When I first started my spiritual journey I had no one, no guidance, and no books. I found my way by the light of the moon, following the resonating pulses of my heart through the darkness to finally connect with my spiritual home; the Greek Gods. Yes, I am polytheistic and even rarer yet, I love the ancient Greek Gods. I also practice with the Hindu Gods and Indigenous Gods of the Americas, so I have an eclectic mix of practices and beliefs. Everyone has different beliefs and origins, and that is what this website is about; the different paths that exist and can take you home to that place of wholeness, love, and wisdom. This is a safe place for you to explore all the possibilities that exist so that you may find and connect with your spiritual self.

Feel free to contact me to request a book review, cite/feature an article, suggestions, questions, and so on. You can also read more about my personal life in the About Me category and follow me on social media.

Namaste people,

Melissa Portan.
